The Journey

My eyes twitch nervously around the hall. I’m sweating and it’s not from the 35º heat. Looking down, the words on the page say “Final Exam” but all I see is “End Game”.
Breathing deeply, I hope the air will clear my mind. I close my eyes to escape the claustrophobia.

I open my eyes and I’m no longer in the rapidly shrinking hall. I look around and there is a purple sky, like the blue of day and black of sky are mixing together and creating a perfect evening. But not so for me. My mind feels like it is imprisoned and can not leave the thoughts of the exam I am about to do.

I feel like I’m falling, but my feet are firmly planted on the dark green grass. I turn around to see behind me and I see a small clearing and some light peeking though the trees. I ignore my fear and begin to tread the ground that separates me from the light.

As I arrive at the trees, I hear something move some dried leaves that have fallen in autumn. A shadowed figure appears out the forestation and the newly risen moon reveals who they are.

“What are you doing here? You know this place is forbidden! Let’s go!”
